Dr. Larry Huffman
Retired president
Kankakee Community College

Dr. Larry Huffman recently retired after 14 years at the helm of Kankakee Community College -- a period that saw the institution expand to an enrollment of more than 5,000 students and an annual budget of nearly $19 million.

A nationally recognized expert in policy development and program review, Huffman has served as a consultant to community colleges, universities and educational organizations around the country, including ICCTA. He is a past chair of the Illinois Presidents Council's Student Services and Curriculum committees and has served on nearly all of the Illinois Community College Board's advisory groups.

In 1999 he was elected by his colleagues to a one- year term as chair of the Presidents Council.

Ironically, ICCTA's newest Honorary Member began his educational career as one of the association's first staff members. After serving as ICCTA's associate executive director from 1973- 74, Huffman moved on to administrative posts at Illinois Valley Community College and Kankakee.
