ICCTA Gigi Campbell

Student Trustee Excellence Award
2012 Recipient

Kiersten Kasey
Lake Land College

Kiersten Kasey is a true role model for student leaders.

Committed to both education and volunteer service, Kasey deferred her freshman year at Lake Land College to become the state secretary for the 17,000-member Illinois FFA.

Despite that delay, she excelled in Lake Land's agriculture courses while serving as a college ambassador and student trustee.

Kasey has also demonstrated the same commitment to her academic studies. In November 2011 she was named as the only community college recipient of the Lincoln Academy of Illinois' Student Laureate Award.

In fall 2012 she will transfer to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to continue her studies in agriculture education.

"While there are more steps in the journey to complete my educational goals, I am proud to have begun it on the community college road," Kasey says."
